The user must wear protective eyewear suitable for the application. Clear transparent vinyl does not reduce harmful UV light from welding operations.

The portable welding shade frames are modular in design and quickly connect with a joint connector. These pop in and out so you can quickly change your layouts.
Layout Options
There are many different layout options to choose from by simply adding 2, 3 or 4 panel connectors as shown below. If you want to purchase extra connectors just input the qty and style you want on the special notes box on this order form and we will add them to your order.
2 panel connectors = $27 each

Common Questions
If I purchase a double layout and I choose a 6' x 6' panel do I get (2) 6' x 6' panels?
Yes our form is setup so that if you choose a double layout you would get two panels per the size you choose. This would give you a 12'w x 6'h overall length if you had them straight in a row.
If I purchase a triple layout could I reconfigure it into 3 individual stand alone welding curtains to be able to use at different places?
Yes. Even a single panel curtain can stand alone. Using 2 out of 3 would not be a problem standing alone.
Can these be connected together to form a privacy wall?
Yes you can use our portable welding screens which are multi-functional for both welding or to form a privacy wall. They can be used as privacy screens when connected together with their hinges. For instance if you needed a 40 foot privacy wall which is 10 feet tall we could connect four units which are 10' x 10' that are hinged together to form one continuous wall. We can also supply a Velcro flap which would close the gap between the units so there is even less visual access. If choosing this option you would of course want to select the opaque shade rather than the tinted shades.
Can the shades be flipped so a 5' x 10' becomes a 10' x 5'?
Yes the screens are modular in design so that any screen can be used both horizontally or vertically. You would just quick disconnect the mounting legs, flip the screen and reattach the legs. Its very quick.

How do the shades connect together?

Will the Vinyl hold up to flying sparks?
The vinyl material will hold up to hot flying sparks from a distance as shown in the picture below. Keep in mind there are different kinds of sparks. There are sparks from grinding metal which these portable welding screens work great for and then there are sparks which come from other work processes which are very large and sometimes molten. For that type of an application you would need to use the canvas shade material which is made for heavy close range welding.
What's the difference between clear Vinyl and tinted Vinyl?
The vinyl that we use for clear curtains is the same vinyl use for the welding curtains. The welding curtains however are thinner at 14 mil thick while the clear curtains we provide our 20 mil thick. Both of them can be used for welding applications except the clear material of course will not block any harmful UV light. If that is not a concern than both materials should work fine.
Are they Approved Hot Work Welding Curtains?
Hot works welding curtains are a type of material that is used for heavy welding operations. These are applications where there will be high temperatures, sparks, molten splashing, and heavy slag present. To meet this specification you would need to choose the canvas shade material.
