Why Is Shipping Not Included?
Shipping costs are something we occasionally grapple with as we try to meet our customers' expectations. We sell custom-made products, so it's not something that we can easily get shipping rates for upfront. Because until it's packaged and we have the sizes and dimensions of those packages, we can't actually get a shipping cost. With that, we use an industry standard for industrial sales of prepay and add (PP-ADD), which means shipping will be added after the order ships and we have a rate from the shipping carrier.
OK, I understand the shipping terms now but why was I not notified when I ordered?
AKON actually does call out the shipping terms during the sales and ordering process. You can see below that we use four different locations throughout the sales process to notify customers. You can view those shipping notifications below.
OK, but how can you help me out on this shipping fee?
While it is not common for customers to be taken by surprise by the shipping charges, it is common for AKON to work through the shipping charges with those customers who are surprised.
