How to Order The Perfect Curtain

• What is fullness?
  • The term "fullness" describes the amount of extra fabric width used in a curtain in relation to the opening that you are trying to cover. More "fullness" gives you more folds in the curtain.
  • We recommend adding at least 1.2 times the width of the opening to get a good appearance and coverage, with 1.5 being the most ideal.
  • As an example, if you have a pergola with an opening of 120" that you want to cover with our curtain, then you would want to input 180" for the width (120" opening x 1.5 fullness = 180"). That will cover the opening and give you a nice full appearance.

• What is stacking width?
  • The area curtains occupy when totally opened is known as "stacking width." With a 20% stacking width, our outdoor curtains leave 20% of their whole width stacked. For instance, the stacking width of a 120" wide curtain opened is 20% of 120", which comes to 24". The curtains will stack to 24"' when totally open.
  • Considering stacking width, if you want a full view of your area, you would want to ensure you have enough curtain rod length to extend past the opening on both sides or just one side so that the stacking width does not obstruct your view.

• Are there any seams?
  • If the width of any curtain exceeds fifty inches, there will be a sewn seam. This is required as raw material for AKON and other suppliers only comes in certain widths.

• I need stronger curtains; what do you offer?
  • AKON is known for industrial outdoor curtains that are made for the harshest environments. Fabric is great for mild weather, but when the weather is extreme, you will want to use our 18oz reinforced vinyl scrim outdoor curtains.
