Customer – Do you have an isolated curtain? We are building a garage in northern WI that will store snowmobiles in the winter. We don’t want to heat the whole garage so we are thinking of closing off half the garage by curtain and heating only while we are there to melt the snow off the machines.
AKON– Yes we do have isolation curtains of all styles. It sounds like your specific application is for a garage. The garage curtains are used for all kinds of purposes including heating and cooling. If this is a long-term application then you can view our insulated garage curtains. If it is a short-term application, then you can view our standard 18 ounces garage curtains. Insulated curtains are about three times the cost of the standard curtain so unless they’re going to be used for several years you would not recoup your investment.
Customer – We would like to create like to install a insulated divider in our cold storage area. Are these curtains allowed in cold storage for making temperature zones?
AKON – That is a great question. Yes these curtains are suitable for cold storage areas and are commonly used to form temperature zones inside coolers and freezers. Typically they are a static amount with strip curtain entrances which allow access from one side to the other. When you request a quote or talk to an Akon representative it will be important to inform us of the lowest temperature the curtains will have to endure. Vinyl material has a low temperature point where it becomes brittle which is known as cold crack. We want to make sure we provide a curtain which is suitable for the environment.
