Overhead cranes are common in industrial facilities because they can load, unload, and transport materials quickly and efficiently. They almost entirely replace human power by carry heavy loads and thus making the working process safer and more cost-efficient. With such equipment, you will be able to lift and transport goods through the warehouse.
To make overhead cranes more efficient, you could equip them with special curtains. First, if you want to cover the area above the crane, you can add strip curtains. They will allow the crane to pass through without hindering its movement. Next, you can add bottom freestanding curtains with tension cables. Finally, the addition of welding curtain cells will help divide the working floor space.
Industrial Overhead Crane Curtains
We hang the industrial curtains below the overhead crane (the two images above). To do this, we use tension cables with s-hooks and turnbuckles to tighten the cables which will allow the curtains to hang freely below the overheard crane. The curtains are could move side-to-side if needed and the crane has complete access above the curtain to move from zone to zone.
If you want to cover the space above the crane, you can mount clear strip curtains. These strips mount to the roof deck or cross members of the building. The crane will easily push through them when moving yet still block air from one zone to the other.
You can create an opening in the freestanding curtains as well but you are limited to 10' in height for AKON hardware but you could fabricate your own uprights if you need to go higher. This will allow the curtains to move side-to-side as well using our industrial curtain track. Divide and separate work environments with ease.
Roll Up Welding Curtains For Separating Floor Space
Our roll up curtains are the ideal solution for separating and reorganizing floor space in industrial facilities with overhead cranes. Their integrated design allows them to take the shape of almost any cell configurations can you want. The wheels installed on the pedestal base make it very to transport without much effort.
Unlike anchored welding screen welding cells, the SB-5000 curtains can be tilted backwards and rolled away from production for 100% access. You can connect up to 4 shades to a single post which allows for clear access of overhead cranes.
The roll-up curtains can have either semi-transparent shades with 14mil PVC or opaque shades with 18oz PVC. Both are fire retardant and CFM Rated. Other than that, you can choose heights and weights (no taller than 6' or wider than 25'), layouts, colors, and more.
Competitive Advantages Of Industrial Overhead Cranes
Overhead cranes are the most used lifting devices in warehouses across the United States. The crane's ability to do large and heavy lifting far exceeds what manpower can do. Everyone can benefit from a warehouse crane due to its efficiency and ease of use.
- They can continuously work for long periods of time
- Will greatly reduce labor costs
- Improve warehouse space usage and delivery times
- Low failure rates and easy maintenance
- On average, cranes have a long service life
- Cranes have protection systems to keep operators safe
While an overhead crane on its own is an amazing addition to any warehouse, with the help of special industrial curtains, it can achieve new heights and further boost production efficiency.
Dividing Space Below The Crane
By using AKON's industrial freestanding and strip curtains, you will be able to upgrade the area by:
- Dividing up manufacturing space
- Improving temperature, dust, and humidity control
- The curtains can be quickly installed and removed
- They will keep your workers comfortable ans safe
- Seal off unused warehouse space; even above the crane
- Reduce heating and cooling bills and labor costs
- Contain dust, over-spray, and odors
- Worker privacy and comfortable working conditions
- Can be repurposed for future use in other applications
- Curtains are fully-customizable to fit nicely next to any type of industrial overhead crane
Overhead Crane Curtain Advantages
AKON's verhead crane curtains and strips take almost no time to set up or take down.
The strip curtains will seal off the space above the crane without hindering manufacturing processes.
You choose what height, length, color, and accessories to use by filling a quick quote form.
The industrial curtains will help in containing process driven hazards as well as improve climate control.
Overhead Crane Curtains
The combination of freestanding industrial curtains, overhead strips, and welding curtains cells can transform how a facility looks and operates. These curtain types together will make your warehouse a more secure and work-efficient.
Neither of them will hinder the movement of the overhead crane but instead cover empty spaces and separate the working floor into numerous cells.
These curtains are inexpensive unlike other types of walls and can be customized with different layouts, heights, lengths, tracks, colors, and other accessories.
